AMERICA, ONE SONG AT A TIME: Against the sweeping backdrop of the North Dakota Badlands, the Medora Musical returns for a landmark season - celebrating 250 years of America with a bold new production filled with music, spectacle, history, and an unmistakable Western spirit.

For more than six decades, the Medora Musical has celebrated the people, stories, and rugged landscape that helped shape the American West. In 2026, that story takes on new resonance as Medora joins the nationwide America 250 celebration, looking back at the country’s extraordinary history while turning its sights toward the next chapter. At its heart is a celebration of resilience - of communities built, tested, rebuilt, and carried forward by the people who believed in them.

Directed by Jason A. Sparks and featuring all-new choreography by Michaeljon Slinger, this year’s production brings fresh scale, movement, and theatricality to the legendary outdoor revue. Slinger’s choreography sends the company sweeping across the vast Burning Hills Amphitheatre in a new collection of production numbers that marry the show’s Western roots with the energy and polish of a contemporary musical spectacular.

From country classics and American pop favorites to soaring patriotic moments, live horses, larger-than-life variety acts, and the show’s signature fireworks finale, the 2026 Medora Musical moves from Dolly to disco - and through generations of American music along the way. It is both a salute to the traditions that have made Medora an institution and a spirited reinvention of what the show can be as America marks its 250th birthday.

The 2026 production is produced by RWS Global, with associate direction by Leah Read, script by Amy Kole, music production by Robbie Eicher, music direction by Adam Magnacca, scenic and prop design by Jenna Snyder, wardrobe design by Karim Rivera Rosado, and casting by Kendra Lynn Lucas.
