The Corn is Dying: Maizy and Beau are getting hitched. And somewhere beyond the borders of Cob County, trouble - and a whole lot of surprises - is waiting.

The Tony Award-winning Broadway comedy Shucked hits the road in a freshly reimagined production from director Steve Edlund and choreographer Michaeljon Slinger, who weave live music into the action, transforming the stage into a joyful celebration of mischief in this corn-fed musical phenomenon.

When the crop that protects their small community suddenly begins to fail, one unlikely hero ventures beyond everything she knows in search of answers. What follows is a wildly funny tale of an unscrupulous con artist, a town fighting for its future, and a battle for both the heart and soil of Cob County - all set to a knockout country-pop score featuring “Woman of the World,” “Somebody Will,” and the showstopping “Independently Owned.”

Featuring a book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn and a score by Grammy Award winners and Tony Award nominees Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, this new touring production puts Edlund and Slinger’s own stamp on the Broadway hit, preserving everything audiences love about Shucked while planting more than a few surprises along the way.

Music supervision is by Jason DeBord, with scenic design by Ann Beyersdorfer, costume design by Leon Dobkowski, lighting design by Ryan O’Gara, sound design by Jeff Human, and hair and makeup design by Adrienne Maurer. Casting is by Murnane Casting.

Shucked is licensed by Music Theatre International and produced by Work Light Productions.
